On Letting Go

Sheila M. Weaver

Only a little while a flower blooms
only a little while the leaves turn golden
 in the fall
the shorn trees do not cling; they know
the seasons will come 'round again
How can I learn thus lightly
 to let go, have faith
that just as in spring there come
 fresh flowers and new leaves
so my needs too will each be met
 in season
